Carpet Wicking

This is most common with very dirty carpets and deep spills. Carpet wicking is when dirt and moisture from deep within the carpet fibers get pulled up to the surface after cleaning. This happens because carpets are designed to hold a lot of dirt, and when you clean them, the water and cleaning solution can cause that deep-down dirt to migrate upward. As the carpet dries, you might notice it looks dirtier again or feels stiff. This effect can sometimes make a fresh cleaning look less effective, but it’s usually temporary and can be fixed with recleaning once the carpet dries completely. We offer to reclean for free within 30 days if needed. Generally, we recommend cleaning an area no more than three times at one cleaning as extended drying times can lead to odors and cause more dirt to rise to the surface.
